The Backstory

I'll call him Dr. Salcedo.

Dr. Salcedo spends much of his day looking at medical images.

Every case requires concentration. Every detail matters. And by the time he reaches the later cases of the day, the interface he's been using for hours becomes part of the workload itself.

The problem wasn't simply that existing PACS systems were complicated.

They were visually exhausting, slow, and disconnected from the way radiologists actually worked.

Eden wanted to build something different: a cloud based PACS designed around the realities of healthcare in Latin America.

We had to make medical imaging faster without making the person reading it work harder.

What We Built

01.

Design for the work, not the software

Radiologists weren't looking for more features. They needed the information and tools they used most often to stay out of their way.

I mapped the workflow around real clinical tasks and used those patterns to shape the product experience.

02.

Make every image easier to work with

Medical imaging demands precision, but precision doesn't have to mean visual overload.

We designed the interface around clarity, hierarchy, and reduced visual fatigue, including a dark mode built for extended sessions.

03.

Keep the workflow together

Existing tools often separated viewing, reporting, sharing, and administration across different experiences.

We brought those moments into a connected cloud based workflow, from image review to result sharing.

04.

Build a system that could keep growing

The product needed to scale across labs, radiologists, and healthcare networks without becoming another fragmented tool.

I created the design system and interaction foundations that kept the experience consistent as the product expanded.

The Outcome

01.

70K+ studies

More than 70,000 studies processed within months of launch.

02.

Thousands of professionals

Professionals onboarded across Latin America.

03.

Faster clinical workflows

The new experience reduced friction across image review and result sharing.

04.

Built for scale

A unified design system supported a growing cloud based product across healthcare networks.

Dr. Salcedo didn't need a more sophisticated PACS.

He needed one that respected the fact that her attention was part of the work.

Designing Eden changed the way I think about enterprise healthcare products. Performance isn't only about how fast a system responds.

Sometimes it's about how much effort the person has to spend using it.
